How to use Claude Code from your iPhone

Claude Code runs on your computer, so your phone has to reach it somehow. Here are the ways to follow a job, answer a question or allow a command away from your desk.

With Claude Code alone

  • Remote Control. Run /remote-control in a session, or claude remote-control, then open the session in the Claude app. It needs a Pro, Max, Ultra, Team or Enterprise plan, not an API key. Claude Code has to keep running on your computer, and each running copy offers one remote session unless you use its server mode.
  • SSH and tmux. Run Claude Code inside tmux on a computer your phone can reach, and connect with an SSH app. There is nothing new to trust, but you set up the connection yourself, and it is a terminal on a small screen.

In Codepit

The Codepit app on an iPhone, three screens: the project ember-keep with one chat at work and one waiting for an answer, a chat where Claude explains its change, and Claude asking to run npm run build, with No and Yes, run it.
  • Pair with one QR code. Settings › Phone on your computer shows the code, and the app scans it. No account and no password.
  • Your chats come along. See what Claude is doing, answer its questions, allow a command, keep or undo its changes, and put jobs on tonight's list.
  • Notifications. If you allow them, the phone tells you when a chat needs you.
  • Your computer's screen. Click and type on it from the phone. It is off until you allow that phone, and the screen shows a bar with Stop while it is in use.
  • Siri and Shortcuts. Siri or the Action button can ask Codepit what it is doing, or stop it.
  • Sealed on the way. Phone and computer talk through codepit.app, sealed with a key only the two of them have, so the server in between cannot read it.

Two things to know. The iPhone app is in testing on TestFlight for now, and any browser does the same at codepit.app/p. And Codepit has to be open on your computer, with a project open and the computer awake and online.
