Try saying

>Move PROJ-456 to 'In Review' and add a comment that the PR is up

Claude picks the right Jira actions on the server and runs them as you, within your existing project roles.

Worth knowing

The server is hosted by Atlassian at mcp.atlassian.com. Claude acts with your account's permissions, and every tool call is recorded in your organization's audit log.

Some tools depend on admin settings: delete and manage tools for Jira are off by default, Jira Service Management tools need API token sign-in, and Bitbucket tools need a workspace linked to your organization. IP allowlists also apply.

Atlassian warns that content in your sites can carry prompt injection that steers the agent. Review high-impact or destructive changes before confirming them.
