What you get
Nine skills, run as /duckdb-skills:<name> or picked up when your work matches. They share one session file, so a database attached once is there for every query.
- read-file
- query
- attach-db
- convert-file
- s3-explore
- spatial
- duckdb-docs
- read-memories
- install-duckdb
Before you start
- The DuckDB CLI. If it's missing, the skills offer to install it with
/duckdb-skills:install-duckdb. - macOS or Linux. Windows isn't fully supported yet.
Try saying
Claude works out the format from the file extension, reads the file with DuckDB, answers, and suggests query for digging further.
Worth knowing
read-memories searches your past Claude Code session logs in ~/.claude/projects, across all projects unless you add --here.
Session state, including ATTACH statements, secrets and macros, is kept in a plain state.sql file. On first use you choose whether it lives in the project (.duckdb-skills/state.sql) or in your home folder.
duckdb-docs searches indexes hosted on duckdb.org and ducklake.select over HTTPS, unless you cache them locally.
