Codepit The toolbox

Claude runs the Hugging Face Hub CLI

Claude learns every hf command, so it can find and download models and datasets, upload files, manage repos and run jobs on the Hub for you.

Scan checks all of huggingface/skills on your computer, before anything installs.

What you get

The plugin installs one skill, hf-cli. The repo's other 24 workflow skills are added one at a time with hf skills add <skill-name>.

  • hf-cli
  • huggingface-llm-trainer
  • huggingface-datasets
  • huggingface-spaces
  • huggingface-gradio
  • huggingface-community-evals
  • huggingface-paper-publisher
  • transformers-js

When it kicks in

  • Downloading models
  • Uploading files
  • Datasets
  • Spaces
  • Jobs
  • Papers
  • Inference Endpoints

It kicks in whenever you mention Hugging Face or hf, even if you don't ask for a command.

Before you start

  • The hf command line tool. The skill's own install line is curl -LsSf https://hf.co/cli/install.sh | bash -s.
  • A Hugging Face access token for anything on your account. The skill recommends setting it as HF_TOKEN.

Try saying

>Download the gpt2 model into ./models

Claude runs hf download with a local folder, using the commands the skill lists.

Worth knowing

Claude acts on your Hugging Face account through the hf CLI and your access token. That covers uploads, repo changes, discussions and starting jobs on Hugging Face infrastructure.

The hf-cli skill is generated from your installed CLI version, so its command list changes as the CLI updates. Regenerate it with hf skills add --force.
