Codepit The toolbox

Work with your MongoDB Atlas data

Connects Claude to MongoDB's hosted Atlas server, so it can explore your databases, run queries, manage indexes and handle Atlas resources. Seven MongoDB skills come with it.

Scan checks all of mongodb/agent-skills on your computer, before anything installs.

A plug going into a small server

Before you start

A MongoDB Atlas account. The first time Claude uses the server, you sign in to Atlas in your browser. No connection string or local setup needed.

Try saying

>Why is this query slow?

Claude reads the collection's indexes, runs explain on the query and looks at a sample document, then suggests an index, ideally one that fully covers the query. With Atlas API access it also checks Performance Advisor's slow query logs.

Worth knowing

The plugin connects to MongoDB's hosted server at mcp.mongodb.com with your Atlas sign-in. Through it, Claude can read your data and manage Atlas clusters, projects, database users and network access.

For a deployment you run yourself (Community, Enterprise Advanced or self-hosted), there is a separate mongodb plugin. It runs the MongoDB MCP server locally through npx and connects with your own credentials, which its mongodb-mcp-setup skill helps you set up.

Comes with seven skills

They load on their own when the task fits: writing read-only queries, fixing slow ones, designing schemas, search and more.
