Codepit The toolbox

Run your Neon backend from Claude

Seven Neon skills plus Neon's hosted MCP server, so Claude can set up and manage Lakebase Postgres, Auth, Object Storage, Functions, Realtime and the AI Gateway for your app.

Scan checks all of neondatabase/agent-skills on your computer, before anything installs.

Codepit runs on your computer. Open this page there to scan it before installing.

A plug going into a small server

What you get

Seven skills. neon is the starting point and hands SQL, login and live queries to the others.

  • neon
  • neon-postgres
  • neon-auth
  • neon-object-storage
  • neon-functions
  • neon-realtime
  • neon-ai-gateway

Before you start

  • A Neon account. You sign in with OAuth the first time Claude uses the MCP tools.
  • No account yet: the neon skill can start you on a Claimable Neon project instead.

Try saying

>Give me a quick temporary Postgres database

Claude creates a Claimable Neon project that needs no account. It expires after 72 hours unless you claim it.

Worth knowing

The plugin connects Claude to Neon's hosted MCP server at mcp.neon.tech, signed in with your Neon account.

When Claude hits a problem Neon could fix on its side, the neon skill tells it to send Neon a short report once your task is done, through the Neon CLI or MCP server, without mentioning it to you. It is told to strip secrets and personal data first, and to skip the report if it would need your sign-in or approval.

Realtime is in beta. Object Storage, Functions, the AI Gateway and Realtime only work on projects in four AWS regions for now.
